Job Title: Sub Agent
Site Office Location: Located near AB42 3ED (approx. 6 miles / 12-minute drive west of Peterhead Town Centre). Convenient access from the A90 and Longside Road.
Shift hours: 7 am to 7 pm, Monday to Friday. The first 42 hours are paid at the normal rate; everything after that is paid at 1.25. Candidates are also required to work one Saturday a month from 7am to 13:00 pm
Pay rate: -240 day rate inside IR35

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Sub Agent to lead and control a dedicated section of works near Peterhead. Reporting to senior site management, you will lead a team of Section Engineers and Site Engineers, taking full ownership of engineering delivery, safe systems of work, quality assurance, productivity programming, and subcontractor management.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership andamp; Safety: Lead site safety with a Zero Harm focus, manage and coach engineers, and review/improve RAMS, permits (including Confined Space andamp; Hot Works), and temporary works implementations.
- Incident andamp; Safety Management: Lead accident/incident investigations, conduct site/field audits, and carry out trend analysis to drive continuous safety improvements.
- Engineering Control andamp; Quality: Guide engineering staff on complex setting out, oversee technical problem solving, manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), and take ownership of handover documentation (Green Files).
- Planning andamp; Productivity: Produce fully resourced stage programmes, track KPIs, establish graphical progress monitors, and ensure alignment between section and short-term lookahead schedules.
- Commercial andamp; Subcontractor Management: Maintain detailed site diaries, manage subcontractor performance/procurement, monitor weekly costs against section budgets, and draft formal commercial correspondence.
Key Requirements andamp; Experience
- Essential Qualifications: Valid CSCS Card, SSSTS or SMSTS, and a full UK driving license.
- Technical andamp; Management Experience: Strong background leading engineering teams on major civil infrastructure projects (e.g., Earthworks, Drainage, Pavement, Comms, Structures, or Roadworks).
- Handamp;S andamp; Quality Expertise: Good working knowledge of current Handamp;S legislation, incident investigation processes, RAMS creation, and handover certification.
- Planning andamp; Commercial Skills: Proven ability to create fully resourced stage programmes, track production KPIs, monitor section budgets, and manage subcontractors.
- Desirable: Professional accreditation (e.g., ICE or IHT).
