Weandrsquo;re looking for an ambitious and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading construction team on an exciting new-build education project. The Opportunity
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, youandrsquo;ll play a pivotal role in driving the commercial success of the project, working closely with the wider delivery team to ensure the scheme is delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.
Youandrsquo;ll take responsibility for the commercial management of the project while leading, mentoring and developing a team of two, giving you the opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills and influence key commercial decisions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the commercial management of a major new-build education project from procurement through to final account.
- Managing, mentoring and developing a team of two commercial professionals.
- Taking ownership of cost control, forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting.
- Managing subcontract procurement, valuations, variations and contractual negotiations.
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities to maximise project value.
- Working collaboratively with project managers, site teams, clients and supply chain partners.
- Ensuring robust commercial processes are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Driving best practice, maintaining commercial discipline and contributing to the successful delivery of the scheme.
What Weandrsquo;re Looking For
Ideally, youandrsquo;ll have:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.
- Experience working on large-scale new-build construction projects.
- Strong commercial, contractual and financial management skills.
- Experience managing, mentoring or developing junior commercial team members.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A proactive mindset, strong attention to detail and the confidence to make commercially sound decisions.
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
Experience delivering education projects would be advantageous.
