About this role
Cover People is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a well-regarded special needs school in Stretford, Trafford. This is a full-time, long-term role, 8:30am to 3:30pm, which could become temp-to-perm, paid £95 to £115 per day depending on experience. You will support primary-aged pupils with complex needs, Autism, communication difficulties and SEMH, building positive relationships and helping pupils manage emotions and behaviour. The role involves using proactive strategies to prevent and de-escalate challenging situations, adapting lessons and activities to make learning accessible, and encouraging confidence, independence and positive engagement. You will work alongside teachers, therapists, parents and other professionals.

The Role
Support primary-aged pupils with complex needs, Autism, communication difficulties and SEMH.
Build positive relationships and help pupils manage emotions and behaviour.

Encourage confidence, independence and positive engagement.
Work alongside teachers, therapists, parents and other professionals.

What We're Looking For
Experience supporting primary-aged children with SEND or additional needs.
Ideally, experience with Autism, complex needs, communication or behavioural needs.
Patient, adaptable and confident supporting individual needs.
Positive, reliable and passionate about helping children progress.

Up-to-date CV covering your education and employment history.
Right to Work and proof of UK address.
DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
At least two professional references.
