Section Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Section Engineer to join a major infrastructure project, working with a leading Tier 1 contractor. This is a long-term freelance position, ideal for an engineer with strong experience across roads, structures or utilities and a background working on large-scale infrastructure schemes.
The Role
As Section Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of your allocated section of works, working closely with the Site Agent, Sub-Agent and wider project team to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
You will be involved in the day-to-day engineering delivery of the project, including setting out, quality assurance, technical queries, subcontractor management and monitoring progress against programme.
Key Responsibilities
andmiddot;Manage and coordinate engineering activities across your allocated section of works
andmiddot;Provide technical support to the Site Agent and wider delivery team
andmiddot;Undertake setting out and dimensional control
andmiddot;Review drawings, specifications and construction information
andmiddot;Produce and review RAMS, WPPs and ITPs
andmiddot;Raise and manage TQs, NCRs and technical queries
andmiddot;Coordinate and monitor subcontractors and site activities
andmiddot;Monitor progress against programme and contribute to short-term lookahead planning
andmiddot;Ensure works are completed in accordance with the approved design and specification
andmiddot;Carry out quality inspections and maintain accurate site records
andmiddot;Coordinate permits, access requirements and temporary works
andmiddot;Liaise with designers, subcontractors, client representatives and other project stakeholders
andmiddot;Assist with handover documentation, as-builts and quality assurance records
andmiddot;Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with relevant Handamp;S, environmental and quality requirements
Requirements
andmiddot;Previous experience working as a Section Engineer on major infrastructure projects
andmiddot;Essential: Tier 1 contractor experience on large-scale infrastructure schemes
andmiddot;Strong experience within roads, structures and/or utilities
andmiddot;Strong understanding of setting out, engineering delivery and quality control
andmiddot;Experience producing/reviewing RAMS, WPPs and ITPs
andmiddot;Experience managing technical queries, NCRs and site documentation
andmiddot;Good understanding of construction programmes and short-term planning
andmiddot;CSCS
andmiddot;SMSTS or SSSTS
andmiddot;Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
