Role: Paint Technician
Location: Pontypool
Hours: 3-shift rotation: Mornings and Afternoons Monday to Friday, Nights Sunday to Thursday (6:00AM - 2:00PM, 2:00PM - 10:00PM, 10:00PM - 6:00AM)
Pay: andpound;37,746.80 per year (andpound;18.15 per hour), rising to andpound;21.77 per hour with the 20% shift allowance once shifts start
Immediate start available. We're recruiting an experienced Paint Technician to join a busy manufacturing team in Pontypool. You'll be painting and refinishing commercial parts using HVLP spray equipment, making sure every part meets quality and safety standards first time.
The Role:
- Check surfaces are prepped for paint (including taping) and feed back any concerns to the prep team
- Mix and match paint to specification and spray parts using HVLP equipment, including wet on wet
- Use low-bake ovens and keep them clean and maintained
- Inspect your own work, fix defects and polish where needed
- Keep dust and inclusions to a minimum using anti-static equipment
- Complete process paperwork, keep your area clean and follow all health, safety and COSHH procedures
The Requirements:
- City andamp; Guilds Level 3 or IMI in automotive refinishing, or time served with similar paint finishing experience
- Good knowledge of paint application techniques and accurate colour mixing and matching
- Experience of ovens, curing temperatures and drying procedures
- Able to work to tight deadlines and read technical instructions
- Good understanding of health and safety, PPE and fire awareness
- Excellent attention to detail, with a positive can-do attitude
- Able to commute reliably to Pontypool
