Serencroft Care Homes is an independent care provider operating five residential and nursing homes across England, including Gable Court in Romford. We are CQC-regulated and B Corp certified, and we work in partnership with NHS commissioners and local universities to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. We are looking for an experienced, values-led Home Manager to lead Gable Court and build on its position as a safe, high-quality home for residents and a great place to work for staff.
The Role
As Home Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership, operational performance and quality of care at Gable Court, acting as the homeand#39;s CQC Registered Manager. Youand#39;ll lead a multidisciplinary team, manage the homeand#39;s budget and resources, and be the driving force behind a culture of safe, compassionate, person-centred care andmdash; working closely with residents, families, commissioners and the wider Serencroft leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the homeand#39;s CQC Registered Manager, holding responsibility for regulatory compliance and statutory notifications
- Lead, motivate and develop the homeand#39;s staff team, including recruitment, supervision, appraisal and performance management
- Ensure compliance with CQC fundamental standards and all relevant health and social care legislation
- Drive continuous improvement in care quality and safety, working towards and maintaining strong CQC ratings
- Manage the homeand#39;s budget, occupancy and resources effectively
- Oversee care planning, risk assessment and safeguarding practices across the home
- Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, NHS commissioners, local authorities and other stakeholders
- Lead on internal audits, external inspections and quality assurance processes
- Champion Serencroftand#39;s values and B Corp commitments in the day-to-day running of the home
- Report regularly to the senior leadership team on performance, quality and compliance
What Weand#39;re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager within a CQC-regulated care or nursing home andmdash; essential
- NVQ/QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or working towards equivalent qualification)
- Track record of leading a care home to strong CQC outcomes
- Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding practices and relevant health and social care legislation
- Excellent leadership, communication and people-management skills
- Right to work in the UK
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
