We're recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician to join an established commercial vehicle workshop in Ipswich.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified HGV Technician looking for a stable Monday-to-Friday role, with only one Saturday morning per month and strong earning potential of up to andpound;55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
You'll work on a varied fleet of heavy commercial vehicles, carrying out servicing, maintenance, repairs and diagnostics to keep vehicles safe, compliant and road-ready.
The Role
As an HGV Technician, your responsibilities will include:
andmiddot;Carrying out servicing, inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance on HGVs
andmiddot;Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults
andmiddot;Carrying out defect repairs and fault finding
andmiddot;Following manufacturer specifications and approved repair procedures
andmiddot;Using vehicle diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults
andmiddot;Completing warranty work and associated documentation
andmiddot;Completing job cards, repair orders and time recording accurately
andmiddot;Working efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime
andmiddot;Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop
andmiddot;Working closely with colleagues and management to maintain workshop productivity
andmiddot;Taking part in ongoing technical training and development
About You
We're looking for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician with:
andmiddot;City andamp; Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
andmiddot;Previous experience within an HGV or commercial vehicle workshop
andmiddot;Proven HGV servicing, maintenance and repair experience
andmiddot;Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
andmiddot;Good diagnostic and problem-solving ability
andmiddot;Ability to work independently and as part of a team
andmiddot;Strong organisation and workload management skills
andmiddot;Good written and verbal communication
andmiddot;Full UK Driving Licence
andmiddot;Commitment to continued learning and development
Desirable Experience
The following would be advantageous:
andmiddot;Class 1 or Class 2 HGV Licence
andmiddot;Tachograph Licence
andmiddot;HGV main dealership experience
andmiddot;Diagnostic Technician experience
andmiddot;Strong experience using commercial vehicle diagnostic equipment
