Vehicle Maintenance Technician - Back Shift
Are you a fully skilled Vehicle Maintenance Technician looking for a permanent back-shift position?
We have an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join an established Engineering Team as a fully skilled Vehicle Maintenance Technician based in Atherstone.
As a Vehicle Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and reliability of a company fleet of vehicles and trailers, carrying out servicing, planned maintenance, inspections and repairs to ensure the fleet remains safe, legal and fit for duty.
This is a dedicated back-shift position, with no rotation onto nights.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
andmiddot;Completing scheduled servicing and maintenance of vehicles and trailers
andmiddot;Completing signed service and inspection records
andmiddot;Completing defect reports and associated paperwork
andmiddot;Preparing vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing
andmiddot;Working to a standard that supports first-time MOT passes
andmiddot;Carrying out ad-hoc vehicle repairs
andmiddot;Investigating and rectifying vehicle defects
andmiddot;Ensuring the correct and effective use of tools, plant and ancillary equipment
andmiddot;Maintaining good housekeeping standards
andmiddot;Carrying out any other reasonable duties as required by management
About You
The successful applicant should have:
andmiddot;Previous experience in a similar Vehicle Maintenance Technician role
andmiddot;Applicable licences and/or vocational training
andmiddot;City andamp; Guilds Level 3 HGV
andmiddot;Knowledge of automotive equipment and testing/troubleshooting equipment
andmiddot;Experience with welding
andmiddot;Basic DC electrical troubleshooting skills
andmiddot;A valid UK driving licence
andmiddot;The ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy vehicle components
andmiddot;A self-motivated and reliable approach to your work
An LGV Candamp;E / Class 1 licence would be advantageous.
