Health andamp; Safety Advisor

The Opportunity
We are recruiting an experienced Health andamp; Safety Advisor on behalf of our client, an established engineering contractor working on a major energy infrastructure project in Peterhead.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Handamp;S professional to support safe project delivery, work closely with site teams and promote a positive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day health and safety advice to site management, engineers and subcontractors.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and safety tours, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and monitor compliance with safe systems of work.
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and site inductions.
- Support incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and preventative measures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, site procedures and project-specific Handamp;S requirements.
- Maintain accurate Handamp;S documentation and promote continuous improvement across site operations.
About You
- Previous experience in a Health andamp; Safety Advisor role within construction, engineering, utilities or a similar environment.
- NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Good knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and risk management.
- Experience conducting site inspections and reviewing RAMS.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to workplace safety.
- Experience in electrical infrastructure, power transmission, substations or HVDC projects would be advantageous.
