Are you a qualified Design Technology Teacher looking for a new opportunity closer to home after October half-term?

Aspire People is recruiting DT specialists for secondary schools across East Birmingham, with opportunities available from Monday 2 November and throughout the remainder of the academic year.

We're particularly interested in teachers based around Small Heath, Bordesley Green, Yardley, Stechford, Washwood Heath and surrounding areas.

Whether your specialism is Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering, Graphics, Textiles or Food Technology, we'd like to hear from you.

WHAT OPPORTUNITIES ARE AVAILABLE?

We recruit for daily supply, short-term cover, regular weekly bookings and long-term Design Technology teaching positions, alongside potential permanent opportunities.

Assignments may involve delivering general Design Technology across KS3, teaching specialist GCSE courses at KS4 or supporting practical and vocational qualifications.

Long-term positions can include lesson planning, marking, assessment, practical project work and preparing pupils for examinations and coursework deadlines.

We are particularly interested in teachers who enjoy practical teaching and can create a safe, productive workshop or classroom environment.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

You will need QTS or QTLS, strong subject knowledge within at least one Design Technology specialism and the confidence to manage a secondary classroom effectively.

Experience delivering practical lessons, supervising workshop activities and maintaining appropriate health and safety standards is particularly valuable.

We welcome teachers who can deliver across multiple DT disciplines, although specialists in individual areas are equally encouraged to apply.

Applications are welcomed from experienced Design Technology Teachers and Early Career Teachers.
